PLANT is New Branches Parent/Teacher Organization. Our PLANT group is run by parent volunteers with the support of the New Branches staff.

The purpose of the PLANT group is to support the school through event planning, fundraising, and parent involvement. Studies show that when parents are involved in their child’s school it reinforces the view in the child’s mind that school and home are connected and that school is an integral part of the whole family’s life. As a result, the children are more likely to earn better grades, score higher on tests, attend school regularly, develop better social skills, show improved behavior, be more positive in their attitude toward school, complete homework assignments, and continue to higher education.

PLANT meets four times throughout the school year. Meetings will be scheduled in the evening to try to accommodate as many parents as possible.

All parents/guardians are strongly encouraged to take part in PLANT. Parents are asked to volunteer to be the Chairperson or Co-chairperson of the PLANT group, as well as, volunteer to head up one of the PLANT sub-committees.
