At New Branches School we are proud to offer our families a before and after school child care option. Our childcare is open to all New Branches students on a drop in basis. At the beginning of the school year families are asked to sign a childcare contract ensuring that they are able to use the program when necessary and that it is understood that families will be billed for use of the program.
The Before and the After School Care program are run at the same fee of $0.75 per 15 minute period to a total of $3.00 per hour/per student. Our programs charges on a quarter hour basis to prevent families from having to pay for a full hour of care when they only require 15 minutes.
The Before and After School Care programs are run by qualified New Branches School staff. Jill Hofman is the director of the Before School Care Program and Jan Loux is the director of the After School Care program.
Before School Care
Before School Care begins at 7:30am each morning. Parents are required to sign their children into the program each morning. Students will be charged when attending before school care between 7:30am and 8:00am. Any student that arrives after 8:00am will not be charged. Students are escorted from Before School Care to their classrooms at 8:15am. School begins at 8:20am.
After School Care
After School Care begins at 3:45pm and runs until 5:45pm. Students are escorted to After School Care at the end of the school day. Parents are required to sign their children out of After School Care when they pick them up.
The After School Care program offers a lightly structured afternoon for the students. Each day there will be time for the following:
- Free play (either on the playground or in the gym)
- Homework
- Group game time
- Snack (school provided)
- Arts/Crafts (2 times per week)
